The Oxford Schools Are Our Partner…

“To us, The Oxford School has meant more than just childcare; they have been our partner in the development and success of our kids!

Impressed by Oxford’s Safety and Curriculum…

The things we like best about our childcare experience at The Oxford School are that we’re always greeted each morning with the Oxford staff’s friendly smiles and positive attitudes. Both of our children feel welcomed and have developed wonderful relationships. We are also impressed by the level of safety and Oxford’s daily curriculum.

Our Pre-K son’s favorite part of the day with Oxford is visiting the library and art room and he is always excited to be the weather helper. Our toddler enjoys music and art and often shares her favorite songs with her family at home. They both look forward to dress up days, book share, and of course, playing outside.

We feel that both of our children have such an advantage from being introduced to such a variety of subjects and activities at Oxford. Their self confidence has improved greatly and our family has noticed such an improvement in their behavior and skills due to their days at Oxford being filled with challenging, fun activities that allow them to learn and grow.

Everyone Feels Like Family…

The best thing about The Oxford School for us is that everyone feels like family. I know when I drop them off they are getting an education and the love they would receive at home.

I Would Recommend The Oxford Schools…

“Five years ago, when Luke was 7 months old, we decided to move from Charleston, WV to Dublin, OH – this was the first time Luke was introduced to daycare since in Charleston we lived around family that watched Luke during the day. I’ll never forget making a two day trip up to the Dublin area with my mother in tow to help me find a place for Luke to hang out during the day and begin to develop his social skills. Over the course of these two days, we must’ve toured eight to ten schools. We really hadn’t decided where in Dublin we were interested in living yet, so traveled all over town looking at the options. At the time, Oxford was one of the newer schools that had just opened a few months earlier. We were impressed with the management, location, overall cleanliness, organized day schedules and just thought it would be a great fit for our family. Five years later I realize that we couldn’t have made a better decision!

Over these past five years, Luke has formed amazing friendships and has had great teachers. It has been a great experience watching him learn and grow and he has always enjoyed his time at Oxford. He currently is most excited about riding the bus from Oxford to Kindergarten every day with his friends! Our daughter, Abby (2 1/2), is enjoying Oxford just as much as Luke does and is always so excited to go to school everyday.

Abby’s teacher for the past couple of months has just been a gift from God! I have been working on a huge project this summer at work and often don’t get to see Luke and Abby in the evenings during the week. Each night when I miss seeing them, I look forward to coming home to check their daily sheets to see what they did during the day. Abby’s teacher obviously spends a significant amount of time writing about what each of the kids in her class has done during the day, in great detail.

Every night I read through what she has done, I imagine her doing those things during the day and feel like a part of me was there watching. The next morning when I’m getting her ready for school, I talk with her about what she did during the previous day and she gets a huge smile on her face and starts talking about things that she did. While she repeats a lot of what I say these days, she understands what I’m referring to and probably also has a sense that I was watching over her during the day! People at the school have really become part of our extended family over the years.

From birthday parties, to picnics, parades, Easter egg hunts, Thanksgiving dinners, Halloween parties, Christmas programs, Tap and Tumble recitals, summer field trips, emotional graduations – I could go on and on. The staff at Oxford has been wonderful and we have developed great relationships with them outside of school as well. Our most trusted childcare providers at home are teachers from Oxford! I would and have recommended this school to my friends and co-workers and I look forward to more happy years for my family with Oxford! Thank you, Oxford, for everything!”

It’s Fabulous…

The Oxford School has been part of our family for almost 5 years. We consider ourselves founding members and have referred several people, including my brother and his family who decided to enroll their children. I knew the minute I walked in the front doors, that this school was different. There was no franchise or factory feel. The teachers smiled at us when we walked thru, and it was bright and open and was just personal in a way that the other half a dozen places I had toured were not. My son started as a toddler, and is now a second grader, attending the after school program. The newly created homework help has been a miracle for dual career parents! My son has access to a quiet work area, support from the teacher in the room, toys, books, and play equipment when he is finished. It’s fabulous! He can show me the work he has done, and we get family time that is NOT sitting at the kitchen table doing math!

The teachers at Oxford school treat my children like real people. They are greeted in the morning when they walk in, there are expectations that are age appropriate, and the children are given opportunities to make choices. The teachers make every effort to share anecdotes from the day about things my children may have said or done that were funny. They do the best they can to let you know as a parent, that they feel your child is special too. That is priceless. The teachers always seek to frame your kids is a positive way, when I would describe my daughter as a stubborn strong headed child who had her own ideas about how she wanted to conduct her day, the teachers would write on her progress report we are working on Harper’s transitions from one activity to another by assuring her the next one will be fun too! It’s a riot! How great is that?

The administration of The Oxford School is as flexible as possible with my crazy schedule (while still running a fiscally solvent business!) which has saved us money, offered me peace of mind, and lowered the amount of repetitive paperwork required from us. In every single instance that I was not a fan of a newly hired teacher, they did NOT extend that person past their probationary period! It really is amazing to have a leadership team that is so on it. In short, we love Oxford and thank you for all you have done for our family over the years.

The Teachers Are Genuinely Interested In Each Child…

The thing I like most about the childcare experience at The Oxford School is that the teachers are genuinely interested in your child, their learning, their well-being, and their happiness. I value the peace of mind that I am leaving my children with people that not only care for them but care about them. I was shocked when my 2-year old recognized the beginning letters of his name and his friends in the class. I love hearing the stories of the day from the teachers at pick-up and know they have enjoyed being with my son/daughter. Also, Oxford is full of great families to connect with!

Directors And Teachers Have So Much Experience With Children…

Possibly the best thing about The Oxford School is the staff. At the end of the day, my kids are always smiling and excited to share their day’s experiences with me. I often get quite an earful from my four-year-old, and I’m always assured he is in the best of hands while I’m at work based on his statements. For example, before official preschool began, he was excitedly counting down the days. One day after school he stopped on the way to the car and said, Mommy, only three more days until preschool! I’m excited, but Ms. Ashley is going to miss me in her class because she loves me. I knew he was quoting her, and I soon found out she meant what she told him because she wrote a very nice note for me on his daily sheet saying almost the same thing. I feel really good knowing the teachers care this much about the kids.

One of the things I appreciate most about The Oxford School is the communication with the staff. I love hearing stories about each day’s events, and talking to them about children in general. I don’t have a background in early childhood development, so I’m always wondering if the things my kids are doing are typical for their age or unique to their personalities. The teachers and directors have so much experience with children they can usually offer some insight! It’s also great to feel like I have a whole team helping me get through various phases of development. For example, I was really worried when it came time to wean my son from his pacifier because he was so attached to it. The staff at The Oxford School was instrumental in helping him adjust, and it was his teacher’s tip that enabled us to wean him in the first place. It really wouldn’t have gone so smoothly without their support!

One of the things I love the most about having my baby at The Oxford School is that he is always learning something that I either didn’t realize he was capable of learning, or quite frankly hadn’t taken the time to attempt to teach him myself. His teacher had him giving out high-fives at around ten months old, and he was quite proud of himself! He was doing all sorts of things before his first birthday that I hadn’t expected, and the best thing about all of it was the smile on his face!

We Work As A Team To Help My Children Reach Their Full Potential…

The thing I like best about the childcare experience we’ve had at The Oxford School is that the staff are caring and understanding. They know my children and recognize when they may not be feeling quite up to par or have other issues that affect them. I am then notified so I am kept aware of what is going on with my children, just as if I were with them during the day. My children especially love Oxford’s water days, summer camp field trips, and spending time in the muscle room each day.

The greatest benefits that we’ve received by being enrolled with The Oxford School are that I consider the staff at Oxford as part of my extended family. We are able to work as a team to help my children reach their full potential. I am kept informed as to each child’s growth and needs. Although the parent teacher conferences are beneficial, the daily contact with the staff member who is special to my child is the most important. The daily contact make the Oxford staff a part of my child’s development and part of our extended family. The Oxford School has been an essential gem in my work life balance.

Positive Experience…

We initially looked at The Oxford School after seeing their sign regarding drop-in care. At the time, we already had part time care for our 2 children at another facility, but needed a reliable and flexible option to supplement care due to variability in our work schedules. On our initial visit, the Glick Road facility was clean, staff were very polite, and the children appeared to be happy and well cared for.

The drop-in program worked quite well for us, so much that we found ourselves using it more than we anticipated for extra errands and Mommy and Daddy days. When our oldest began to ask: “Can I go to The Oxford School today?” we knew it was a great fit for her. After about 8 months in the drop-in program, we elected to transition to The Oxford School for all of our childcare needs. The positive experience we had with the drop-in program, proximity to our home, flexibility, smaller class sizes, and friendly staff were all contributing factors in our decision to make the transition. The staff were helpful to make the transition as smooth as possible for our 3 year old who had been at the previous center for 2 years.

Staff have always been attentive to the individual needs and goals for each of our children. Our daughter began the preschool program this fall and has enjoyed the more structured activity and interaction with children her age. She likes the computer in the classroom and, surprisingly, nap time. Our 1 year old son is happy to see the muscle room in the morning and always leaves us with a smile. We would and do recommend the center to others in the area with similar needs.

They Will Miss Their Teachers…

Thank you all SO much for the wonderful experience that our children had at school over the past three and a half years. It’s amazing to know that they came to you, not understanding much English, had little self-esteem and have now grown up to be such caring, happy and self-confident children. They will miss their teachers and friends, but will take the great experiences with them in their hearts. Thanks again for taking such great care of our children!
